Pathways to Health Equity for Aboriginal Peoples: Partnerships

Multi-sectoral partnership is key to the success of Pathways. The following examples are intended to stimulate ideas about possible ways we might partner with your organization.

  • identifying existing interventions (programs & policies) that might benefit from research;
  • identifying promising practices that could be adapted in different communities or settings;
  • ensuring that appropriate stakeholders are engaged in research projects;
  • connecting ongoing policy and program changes with Pathways research;
  • partnering with us to fund health research that is relevant to Pathways;
  • building health researcher capacity at the community level;
  • translating research knowledge into outcomes that are relevant to communities and decision makers;
  • sharing best practices and expertise for improving the health of Aboriginal peoples.

Together we can partner to address health inequities affecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities. We look forward to discussing partnership opportunities with you in the near future.

It was a great pleasure for IAPH to co-host with the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (IGH) and the Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH), the Pathways Partner Forum on October 16-17, in Ottawa.
