(2013-05-21)
Dear colleagues,
As part of CIHR's ongoing commitment to providing updates on the Canadian Common CV (CCV), I would like to inform you of the following changes that have been implemented effective May 19, 2013.
On behalf of CIHR, I thank you for your continued patience. I assure you that CIHR remains committed to working with Canada's research community and with the CCV to shape future improvements.
Sincerely,
Jane E. Aubin, PhD
Executive Vice-President, Chief Scientific Officer and Vice-President, Research and Knowledge Translation
Canadian Common CV (CCV) enhancements effective May 19, 2013
1. Enhancements to the search function
- Smart search has been introduced and users will no longer be directed to a separate page to select their information. For example, typing “University of Ottawa” in the Organization field in the section Degrees, automatically selects the Organization Type (Academic), Country (Canada) and Subdivision (Ontario).
2. Removal of subdivision requirement
- CCV users will no longer be required to select a Subdivision for countries other than Canada and USA. For example, if the organization is “University of Paris XII” then the Subdivision will be auto-populated with “not required.”
- In all user accounts, all Subdivisions other than those for Canada and USA have now been updated to “not required.”
3. Ability to sort PubMed entries
- PubMed date values have been converted to the CCV date format. These enhancements have been made to allow PubMed entries to be sorted by their publication dates. As a result, all PubMed publication dates currently entered in the CCV using any of the formats listed below have been automatically converted to the format YYYY-MM-DD.
YYYY
YYYY MMM
YYYY MMM DD
YYYY MMM-MMM
YYYY MMM-MMM DD
YYYY MMM-MMM DD-DD
YYYY-YYYY MMM-MMM DD-DD
YYYY Season [Spring, Fall, Summer, Winter]
- Please note that if your PubMed publication dates were not entered using any of the above formats, the publication date field was cleared when this enhancement was implemented. Therefore, if you have modified the publication date of a PubMed record in your CV and have not used one of the above formats, you will need to re-enter the date in your CV.
If you have any questions, please contact CIHR at ccv-cvc@cihr-irsc.gc.ca or 1-888-603-4178. CIHR remains committed to working with Canada's research community and with the CCV. Additional improvements will continue to be made and updates will be provided as soon as they are implemented.
