Research Profiles – March is Nutrition Month!

This month, read about exciting CIHR-funded research projects on nutrition:

• HIV, Hepatitis C and Hunger: Drs. Joseph Cox and Anne-Marie Hamelin are using data from the Canadian Co-Infection Cohort study to assess food security in people with HIV/HCV co-infections.
• Not Just Hungry: Dr. Lynn McIntyre is interviewing "ultra-poor" women from Bangladesh about the barriers they face to education and health care, and how these barriers contribute to food insecurity.
• Responding to the Need: Dr. Valerie Tarasuk is studying food assistance organizations in five Canadian cities to gain a better understanding of the services currently available and the gaps in our current approach to addressing food insecurity.
