Funding Opportunities
Dissemination Events: Winter 2013 Priority Announcement (Cancer Research)
ICR will provide funding for applications that address the following research priority areas: (1) lifestyle, environment, and cancer prevention (2) diagnosis and guided therapy: towards personalized medicine (3) cancer initiation and intervention, and (4) cancer survivorship. The total amount available for this funding opportunity is one single grant of $25,000 maximum. Application deadline: February 15, 2013
CIHR Travel Awards - Institute Community Support (Winter 2013 Competition)
ICR will provide funding for applications to travel to all annual, or other regular interval, meetings including international conferences that are determined to be relevant to its mandate. The amount for a single grant is up to $1,000. ICR's budget for this competition is $15,000. Please check the CIHR website regularly for the posting of this competition as the deadline will be in January 2013.
2013 Asia-Pacific Bioinformatics Conference, January 21-23, 2013, Vancouver
This conference will provide a scientific forum for theoretical advances in computational biology and their applications in molecular biology, genomics and medicine. The CIHR Institute of Genetics (IG) and Cancer Research (ICR) will grant $500 travel awards for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to present their own research at this symposium. Training Opportunity
Save the Date: 2013 New PI Meeting, November 3-6, 2013, Toronto: The 2nd Canadian Cancer Research Conference has been scheduled for November 3-6, 2013 at the Sheraton Centre in Toronto. During this time, the CIHR Institute of Cancer Research and the Canadian Cancer Society will be hosting another New Principal Investigators Meeting.

This network, which will promote research collaboration and position Canada as a global leader in the care and management of kidney cancer patients, is funded through a partnership between CIHR (and Institute of Cancer Research), Kidney Foundation of Canada, and Kidney Cancer Canada.

International Congress on Targeted Anticancer Therapies - March 4-6, 2013, Paris, France
The conference will be a forum for the scientific community to exchange on clinical and translational research, as well as promising new molecularly targeted cancer therapies. For further information, please visit the congress website.
Isocyanates and Health: Past, Present and Future Conference, April 3-4, 2013, Maryland
This meeting supported by ICR was rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy. The scientific committee has re-opened a Call for Posters and the Submission deadline is February 18, 2013. Conference themes include amongst others Human cancer risk, Environmental exposure/monitoring, and Occupational health surveillance/management.
