CIHR/CMAJ Top Achievements in Health Research: Call for Applications
CIHR has partnered with the Canadian Medical Association Journal (CMAJ) to showcase Canadian health research achievements that have had a significant impact on health, health care, and health research by improving our understanding of health and human diseases, tackling health challenges, and improving our health system.
When Dr. Gideon Koren, Director of the Motherisk Program, won a Top Achievements in Health Research Award in 2011, he said:
"This award is very meaningful for me and Motherisk. It culminates thirty years of research, both laboratory and patient-based, which has been translated to evidence-based practice, affecting thousands of Canadian women and millions of women worldwide. The acknowledgement by CIHR and CMAJ is the best gift we could have dreamed for."
"It feels great when your country says to you, through its highest research authority: you have changed the lives of many Canadian women and their families."
CIHR welcomes applications from individuals or teams working in Canada in the health field, including: health researchers; health professionals; administrators and those involved in public health or public policy. Applications will also be accepted from Canadians working abroad. The Top Health Research Achievements as selected by an international review committee will be considered for publication in the CMAJ. Applications must be submitted to CIHR by September 28, 2012.
