Cancer survivors face physical, emotional and financial challenges, which often persist well after cancer diagnosis and treatment. These wide-ranging challenges can include returning to the workplace, coping with psychological struggles, dealing with strains on personal relationships, managing side effects of treatment and facing the fear of recurrence. Cancer researchers are working to understand and address the needs of the growing population of survivors.
Come and hear three cancer survivors describe their personal journeys, and learn from our experts about leading innovations in cancer research and the latest therapies that have greatly increased a cancer patient's chances of survival. Join us for refreshments and a lively discussion about the latest health research evidence. This free event is presented by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and its Institute of Cancer Research, in collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society. Questions will be answered in both official languages.
