January 14, 2011 – Health Canada / CIHR DSEN Discussion Forum

This first Health Canada / CIHR DSEN Discussion Forum's overarching objectives were to further a collaborative exchange amongst Health Canada and CIHR staff on elements relating to "real world" safety and effectiveness of drugs through an informative and interactive dialogue; to bring Health Canada staff up to date on the developments, procedures, and implementation of DSEN initiatives and activities and; to assist in the development of DSEN Queries as potential research projects to address Health Canada's evidence needs.

The Forum, which lasted half a day, brought together a total of 45 participants from Health Canada and CIHR. Break-out sessions and an interactive group discussion provided input that will be of assistance in the development of the DSEN and suggestions for ongoing research investments.
