Drug Safety and Effectiveness Network (DSEN) Announces Steering Committee Members

Ottawa – Drug Safety and Effectiveness Network (DSEN) is pleased to announce the DSEN Steering Committee (DSEN SC) members.

Background

In December 2007, the Prime Minister announced the Food and Consumer Safety Action Plan (FCSAP) to introduce "measures on food and product safety to ensure that families have confidence in the quality and safety of what they buy." Included among the FCSAP measures was a commitment to establish a Drug Safety and Effectiveness Network (DSEN) to provide ongoing assessments of the post-market safety and effectiveness of drugs and support evidence-informed drug policy decision-making. The government has committed $32 million over five years, and an additional $10 million per year thereafter, to support the Network.
