New Funding Opportunity in Drug Safety and Effectiveness Research

We are pleased to announce the recent launch of the CIHR Catalyst Grant in Post Market Drug Safety and Effectiveness Research. This funding opportunity is intended to provide one year of support for research projects that address gaps in knowledge concerning real-world drug safety and effectiveness.

Funds Available

The total amount available for this funding opportunity is $ 1 million. The maximum amount awarded for a single grant is $100,000 for a maximum of one year.

By way of background, the Government of Canada is supporting the establishment of the Drug Safety and Effectiveness Network (DSEN), hosted at the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR), as part of the Food and Consumer Safety Action Plan (FCSAP). The DSEN will become fully operational over the course of the next few years at which time it will begin funding research projects specific to the objectives of DSEN. More detailed information on the DSEN is available on CIHR's website. Funding for these grants is provided through the FCSAP for the establishment of the DSEN.
