Canadian Institutes of Health Research Institute of Infection and Immunity (CIHR-III) is leading the Canadian Microbiome Initiative (CMI) in collaboration with stakeholders and partners to develop a coordinated and focused research effort and to analyze and characterize the microbes that colonize the human body and its potential alteration during chronic disease state.
