The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the Catalyst Grant: Official Language Minority Communities (2008-2009) competition.
Funding Opportunity Summary
Within the framework of the overall objectives of the CIHR Catalyst Grant Program, the specific objectives of the funding opportunity "Catalyst Grant: Official Language Minority Communities (2008-2009)" were to:
- support research on the health issues experienced within official language minority communities; and
- increase our knowledge related to accessibility, or lack of, health services in one's language of choice (French or English) and its impact on the health status of these two linguistic communities.
Relevant Research Areas of the CIHR Catalyst Grant Program were the following:
- Access to health care services and its impact on health;
- Access to preventive services and its impact on health;
- Access to timely diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation and its impact on health; and
- Relationships between access in one's language of choice and quality of care.
Funding Competition Summary
A total of 7 applications were received of which 3 were approved for funding.
