The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the Catalyst Grant: Maternal and Child Health competition.

Funding Opportunity Summary

The objectives of the funding opportunity "Catalyst Grant: Maternal and Child Health" were to:

• conduct a feasibility study on databases likely to contain maternal and child health data;
• support capacity building and training opportunities in this area;
• assess availability of data;
• assess potential to cross link different data sets;
• obtain information on the release protocols;
• ascertain privacy and ethical procedures;
• develop partnerships with the data custodian and the users of knowledge (province, department or agency); and
• obtain appropriate training to use data, if necessary.

A total of 16 applications were received of which 9 were approved for funding.
