The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the Fellowship: Medical Oncology competition.
Funding Opportunity Summary
The objective of the initiative is to provide an opportunity for individuals who have completed their Medical Oncology training in Canada to have additional clinical and/or fundamental (basic) research experience.
The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are:
- To address scientific questions/problems related to basic science, clinical or translational research questions in medical oncology, such as new drug development, genetic basis of cancer, and prognostic and predictive markers of outcome;
- To address knowledge translation questions/problems related to integration of new therapies in clinical practice, such as population health related to cancer including treatment and quality indicators of cancer system performance; and
- To develop the capacity in Canada to actively participate in these research areas by providing further training opportunities for medical oncologists completing training in Canada.
