The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Bloorview Childrens Hospital Foundation are pleased to announce the results of the Emerging Team Grant: Children with Disabilities competition.

Funding Opportunity Summary

The objectives of the "Emerging Team Grant: Children with Disabilities (Bright Futures for Kids with Disabilities)" were:

  • To support research that will influence decisions made by service providers and managers, children and families, educators, policy makers, and industry.
  • To promote excellent, innovative, applied research on the determinants (intrinsic and extrinsic) of health, well-being, and social inclusion of children with disabilities and their families.
  • To promote novel collaborations and multidisciplinary research partnerships, across sectors, using innovative methods. Teams are encouraged to involve partners - e.g., children, families, educators, policy makers and community partners - as members of the research team.
