The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce the results of the Catalyst Grant: Planning and Development in Mental Health and Addiction in the Workplace competition.
Funding Opportunity Summary
The objectives of the Catalyst Grant: Planning and Development in Mental Health and Addiction in the Workplace were to:
- To facilitate the formation and strengthening of multidisciplinary research teams including workplace/policy partners, that will promote and advance research leading directly to improved mental health in the workplace
- To provide opportunities to strengthen methodological and theoretical approaches to enable the conduct of rigorous workplace studies
- To develop an evidence base in the following areas which can lead to identification of promising practices:
- The nature and prevalence of workplace mental health issues and problematic use of substances; and
- Relevant practices and policies in Canadian organizations and their impact on employee performance and productivity.
- To prepare research/workplace organization teams for success in a possible future RFA to fund teams for testing interventions in a workplace setting
- In the long term, by building relationships one by one through research programs, to create an environment of constructive collaboration and sharing of information between the research and business sectors. In this collaborative environment, relevant problems will be identified and addressed through research.
