The CIHR Institute of Infection and Immunity (III) in collaboration with the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) are pleased to announce the results of the Catalyst Grant: Pandemic Outbreak Team Leader competition.

Funding Opportunity Summary

The purpose of this funding opportunity was to contribute to Canadian preparedness for outbreak research and support Canada's pandemic and influenza research community. The goal of this program is to provide application development funds to team leaders with expertise in the areas of influenza and pandemic who can bring together a research team in key areas that will require a research response when an outbreak occurs.

In the context of the Catalyst Grant program, the specific objectives of the Catalyst Grant: Pandemic Outbreak Team Leader funding opportunity are:

  • To contribute to Canadian pandemic preparedness by identifying high quality team leaders who can bring together research teams in an outbreak.
  • To support high quality research in the event of a pandemic
