Biography
Kathleen Oberle is a Professor with the Faculty of Nursing and an Adjunct Associate Professor with the Faculty of Medicine, University of Calgary. She has been a member of Ethics Review Boards for over 17 years and for many years taught a graduate course on research ethics. Her main areas of scholarly interest are clinical and research ethics. She has conducted several studies on ethical problems in nursing, medicine, and research, an has made many presentations both locally and nationally on these topics. She has numerous publications on ethics, including an undergraduate textbook co-authored with Dr. Shelley Raffin and titled Ethics in Canadian Nursing Practice: Navigating the Journey, to be released by Pearson Education early in 2009. Dr. Oberle was formerly a member of CIHR's Health Ethics, Law and Humanities research review panel and the Standing Committee on Ethics.
