China-Canada Joint Health Research Initiative - Grants Program

The eight CIHR Institutes sponsoring the Program are the Institutes of Aging, Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health, Institute of Gender and Health, Institute of Genetics, Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health, Institute of Infection and Immunity, Institute of Neurosciences, Mental Health and Addiction, Institute of Nutrition, Metabolism and Diabetes, in partnership with the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

The program, established in 2005, is jointly managed and funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Its aim is to promote the development of Canadian-Chinese scientific co-operation between universities, hospitals, research institutes or affiliated research organizations in Canada and China through the support of collaborative research grants.

A total of 68 applications were received, of which 18 were approved for funding.
