Operating Grant Priority Announcement: Circulatory and Respiratory Health - March 2008 Competition

The objective of this priority announcement is to offer short-term support to researchers who submit excellent research operating grant applications in areas relevant to the Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health that are not funded through the regular CIHR competition to which they were submitted. This funding will be awarded to allow these excellent researchers to reapply to future competitions without interruption of funding and to minimize the impact on the research program, staff and trainees.

The Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health will fund applications that were submitted to CIHR's March 2008 Operating Grants competition that address research into causes, mechanisms, prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, support systems, and palliation for a wide range of conditions associated with the heart, lung, brain (stroke), blood, blood vessels, critical care and sleep.

A total of two hundred and thirty eight (238) applications were received, of which thirty six (36) were approved under the Open Operating Grants competition and three (3) were approved under the Operating Grants - Priority Announcement: CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health.
