The ICS Program is not intended to support the direct cost of research (e.g., pilot projects, feasibility studies or operating grants), principal and co-investigator salaries or research equipment.
Under the framework of the ICS Program, INMHA funds activities in two areas:
The Brain Star Award is a long standing programme of INMHA which rewards excellence in research done in Canada by students and trainees in all fields and disciplines covered by our Institute.
CIHR Outreach Initiative for NGO's is a program led by the INMHA which aims to develop communications-related partnerships with Canadian non-governmental, not-for-profit, and community-based organizations.
For those seeking workshop and symposium support, please refer to the Meeting, Planning and Dissemination Grants funding opportunity in the CIHR Funding Opportunities Database.
INMHA's contribution to the amount available for this program is subject to availability of funds voted annually to CIHR by parliamentary appropriations, and the conditions that may be attached to them.
The total amount available for this program is $100,000 for fiscal year 2010-2011. Although not anticipated at this time, additional funds may become available.
Applicants seeking funds from INMHA for community support activities need to follow the ICS program application process which is available on the ICS Program funding opportunity page.
