Institute Community Support (ICS) Program
- Aiding research and knowledge translation activities where the circumstances fall outside of CIHR's current suite of funding programs.
- Supporting individuals and organizations goals are consistent with CIHR and its Institutes’ vision, mandate and strategic directions.
The ICS Program is not intended to support the direct cost of research (e.g., pilot projects, feasibility studies or operating grants), principal and co-investigator salaries or research equipment.
Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) ICS Program
Under the framework of the ICS Program, ICRH supports activities in four areas:
- The ICRH Top Publication Award for Young Investigator recognizes the excellence of research being done in Canada by graduate students (MA, MSc, and PhD) and postdoctoral fellows in the areas relevant to ICRH mandate.
- The ICRH Travel Awards: Skill Development program supports Doctoral and Postdoctoral fellows to attend a meeting/conference/workshop that will enable the acquisition of specialized skills or research experience related to the Institute's mandate.
- The Canadian Sleep Society (CSS)/Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) Student Travel Awards recognize an outstanding research contribution by a student in the field of sleep research.
For those seeking workshop and symposium support, please refer to the Meeting, Planning and Dissemination (MPD) Grants funding opportunity in the CIHR Funding Opportunities Database.
